re-Link is comprised of two essential components: an Android app and a relay service running on your computer. By following a few simple steps, you can establish a seamless connection between your device and computer to access the network.
To initiate a session, begin by starting the relay service on your computer. Once the relay is active, connect your device, which should have the re-Link app installed, to your computer using a USB cable.
The relay service will automatically detect the connected device and initiate the re-Link app. With this connection established, your device will now utilize your computer's network connection to access the internet and other network resources. You can continue using your device as you normally would, benefitting from the stable and reliable network connection provided by your computer.
The re-Link icon appears in the system bar. From this menu, you can close re-Link when you no longer use it.
Download the re-Link installer and run it.
compatible with Windows 8, 10, 11
The installer will install re-Link.exe
and device-installer.exe
on
the system.
It also takes care of installing the android accessory driver.
Depending on how your system is configured, you might need to install a re-Link compatible driver for your android device.
Install the driver for your Android device by following these instructions:
- Connect your Android device to your PC via USB.
- Launch device-installer
. On the console, you should see a list of devices
with their respective IDs.
- Enter the ID number corresponding to your device and press ENTER to proceed.
If your device is not listed, try unplugging and then replugging it. Restart the
device-installer
program to see if the device is detected.
Download the .deb package, and install it via sudo apt install ./re-link_x.y.z
tested on Ubuntu 22+ and ArchLinux
Alternatively
You can download the .zip archive which contains the binary and run it directly.
re-Link needs to have
access to low level network features of the OS to run properly, so make sure to start it
using sudo
re-Link needs the libusb library. It should be available out of the box on Ubuntu. If not, you will have to install it.
